Starting my comeback.

My name is Stefanie Fleckenstein and I am a 26-year-old alpine ski racer from Whistler, BC. My Olympic dream started when I witnessed the 2010 Winter Olympics in my hometown and for the past 12 years I have pushed myself to achieve the dream of representing Canada.

For the past 2 years I have been representing Canada on the World Cup, Europa Cup and NorAm cup stage, chasing my goal of competing at the 2026 Games in Cortina. The 2022/23 race season was a massive step forward for me as I claimed my first top 30 World Cup result, top 20 World Cup result and first Europa Cup podium. The 2023/24 season started on the same track and I was ranked in the top 30 at the first two Downhill World Cup races of the season, as well as earning a top 10 in the first Europa Cup. Unfortunately, in the second Downhill World Cup I crashed on the last gate, across the finish line and sustained a serious lower leg injury. This injury is just one hurdle in my journey and I’m going to use it as a way to grow into a better athlete for my future. Follow along with my rehabilitation as I work hard to make my goal of Cortina 2026 a reality!
